AmSkills is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 2014, operating from Holiday, Florida, and serving the Tampa Bay area, including Pasco, Pinellas, and Hernando counties. The organization provides technical training and apprenticeships aimed at the manufacturing and infrastructure sectors, with a mission to strengthen communities through workforce development.
The organization's programs include career discovery bootcamps, registered apprenticeships, and pathways to industry-aligned technical certifications. To date, AmSkills has graduated over 562 bootcamp participants, achieving a 55% job placement rate, and facilitated the earning of more than 2,000 industry certifications. Its approach is structured around a Recruit, Train, Sustain model, connecting training directly to employment opportunities.
AmSkills serves a broad range of populations, including youth, adults, veterans, individuals with criminal backgrounds, and those recovering from substance abuse. The organization is guided by a community-based Board of Directors, focusing its efforts on creating accessible pathways into skilled technical careers.
