InterVarsity is a Christian campus ministry operating across the United States. The organisation, founded in 1941, is headquartered in the U.S. and maintains historical ties to England. It is part of the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES), which connects it to similar movements in over 160 countries.
The ministry establishes witnessing communities on more than 700 college campuses, serving over 40,000 students and faculty. Its work includes targeted outreaches to athletes, artists, international students, nurses, and ethnic minority groups. The stated goal is to help students and faculty follow Jesus through these communities.
InterVarsity operates with approximately 1,500 staff members. Two notable initiatives extend its reach beyond campuses: InterVarsity Press, a publishing arm founded in 1947 that produces resources for the broader church, and the Urbana missions conferences, which encourage student participation in global mission work.
