College Intern, Division of Regulatory Services
Job Summary:
This is a paid internship program.Intern will assist Regulatory Scientist staff with Environmental Resource Permits regulatory review and compliance, including assisting with wetland determinations; permit applications and compliance document review; Geographic Information Systems (GIS) review; and field work (site visits, identification of plants and wildlife, and habitat assessments).
Position includes spending time in the office at the Jacksonville Service Center working alongside Regulatory Scientist staff or accompanying District Regulatory Scientist staff on site visits, conducting field work such as wetland determinations, ecological assessments, and compliance inspections.
Minimum Qualifications:
College or university student currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program in biology, ecology, botany, environmental science, or a closely related field, and either attending classes or participating in a work experience program sanctioned by the individual school and at least a junior level (senior level preferred) studying in a related field and either attending classes or participating in a work experience program sanctioned by the individual school and at least a junior level (senior level preferred) studying in a related field.
All students must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher.
Working Environment:
Mostly in an office environment, sitting at a desk and operating a personal computer to produce work products with some field visits as required. Field visits would require enduring outdoor environments in uncomfortable temperatures, inclement weather, and remote locations.
Additional Details:
Internshipwill run for16weeks. The work is 20 hours per week.

Intern will produce report/presentation to highlight accomplishments.
Salary:$15.00/hour
